we got pretty much the worst kind of weather for a trip to napa, grey and cold, but we did get to miss the crowds that usually swamp napa in the late summer and early fall. also, we had no choice as we had booked a balloon ride that morning.

we visited francis ford coppola's winery and the peju winery where we bought a case of mixed wines including an amazing chardonnay (so b tells me).
