group
1a: 1946-1955 Sports & Racing Cars
this group consisted of a weird mix of vehicles, from
racing cars under 1000cc to huge 5000+cc hot rods. interestingly enough,
the small engine cars lead the way, as they were able to negotiate the
course a lot easier than the big bore monsters.

group 1b: Pre
1939 Sports & Racing Cars
this group rounded the track at the same time as group
1a and were obviously no match for the faster nimbler siblings, but
they were a real treat to watch, especially #17 and #44, the oldest
cars in the group) which featured a driver and a passenger, the passenger's
job being throwing extra weight into the turns.
