these images were taken during pitstops on my ride back to warsaw from giżycko. we stopped in several small villages and i tried not to bug the local populace too much. the poles are not super friendly to being photographed, one guy even questioned me as to "what the hell was i doing?" maybe it's a left over cold war paranoia, maybe it's that it's rare that they see someone taking pictures of what they find everyday scenes and object, or maybe they're just a private people. i should know, my first 10 years were spent in poland, but 2 decades in america made me lose touch with my polish background more than i previously imagined. shame on me.
