this is my grandmother, aniela cisek. she is the mother of my father and my aunt. she is 87. she has lived through deportation to siberia where she raised her children in frightening conditions. after a lifetime of being a huge and powerful woman, she seems tiny in physical size, but she remains powerful and mysterious to me. these pictures were taken in her garden in pszczyna, poland.
