it was a very
strange weekend.
on friday, a
guy was driving along i280 in san francisco when his car begin burning.
he pulled off the nearest exit which happens to be right next to where
i work. i saw the smoke but arrived too late to see the flames. thankfully
the driver was okay, although his car was completely, and i mean completely,
gutted.
the next day,
i was driving to fresno where i witnessed the aftermath of a very
strange but thankfully not fatal accident involving a side swipe of
two vehicles along route 152. the vehicle in the field was almost
a quarter mile from the other vehicle it hit. both had damage on the
left side suggesting a barely avoided headon. the gentleman the paramedics
are working on seemed okay, he was conscious, talking, and moving
all extremities. the occupants of the car in the field also seemed
fine.
just a few hours
later, as i drove down route 99 approaching fresno, i saw a huge plume
of smoke rising above the hills. as i drove under an underpass, to
my left i noticed flames. according to a police officer, someone must
have chucked a cigarette out the window causing a violent brush fire
to start. it was a very hot and dry day in fresno...
